Re-purposed
During a leadership conference meet in India, 20 global leaders came down to the community in Ramamurthy Nagar in Bangalore where we setup the Container School. Their challenge was to collect tons of garbage! It was a breeding ground for many infectious diseases and posed severe threats to the residents and the community animals residing in the area.
While our attempts are to also inculcate change as a catalyst by helping clearance of garbage that included hazardous wastes, we had also employed principles of reusing and recycling for items that could be salvaged and repurposed.

The result? Over 54 truckloads of waste were transported to designated dumpsites away from the slum.
The removal lasted a week when workers with specialized equipment removed the debris from morning till late evening each day. Over 100 tons of garbage had been removed.
