Addressing problems with electricity
At night, the residents of Ramamurthy Nagar depend on candles to lighten the inside and surroundings of their huts as they are not electrified. In some cases, residents have been depending on ‘power generators’ which produce harmful substances and are not economically viable. Owing to the make-shift nature of these houses, the use of lighting from candles is hazardous.

When our team discovered that many families from 2 communities near our Container School were deprived of electricity and light, we reacted. We purchased and distributed 720 solar lights to 370 families between 2020 and 2022.
