The Hemmersbach Kids’ Family supports children and youth in foster care in Poland and India. Our local initiatives target both younger and older individuals who face a more challenging start in life. Our support includes therapy, medical care and education. We also provide medical and psychological help to those who need it most, and we equip foster care facilities and families with computers and other essential equipment, responding to ongoing needs.
This brings us to our latest initiative involving Hemmersbach Kids’ Family employees and the HKF Child Development Support Center in Wrocław, at the Family Children’s Home in Dobrzykowice.
Joanna and Grzegorz Lech have been running this home since 2002. Alongside raising their own children, they have opened their hearts to children in need of foster care. When we heard about the need for minor renovations and painting, we had no doubt that we would take on this challenge.
On Friday, May 17th, a dedicate team from the Kids’ Family Foundation and the HKF Centre rolled up their sleeves and started working as part of an employee volunteer project. Our task was to paint two rooms for Paulinka, Dominik and Sebastian. We began with some cleaning and prepping the space so that after makeover, the children could relax and study in their refreshed rooms.
Then, we puts rollers, brushes and paints to work. The work went smoothly with residents’ company. We had one special helper – Marcel, who not only provided musical entertainment but also eagerly assisted with the painting, bringing a lot of joy and smiles.
The time spent at the Lech family was more than just about renovation work; it was a chance to experience a place filled with love, warmth and dedication. That day our friend joined us Maneesh – colleague from the Indian branch of the HKF Foundation, helped us with painting. We are delighted that we could come together to “paint the world” of these children and truly help the Family Children’s Home in Dobrzykowice.
