Interview: what the participant of the Programming Academy said
Programming Academy is one of the educational projects of Hemmersbach Kids’ Family Foundation. It’s a space, where children and young people from care and educational institutions learn the secrets of programming and get to know the world of IT under the supervision of instructors. Daniel – one of the course participants, told us about his impressions of the class.
Hello! Will you tell us a little about yourself? How old are you?
I am a young, 18-year-old boy who wanted to code from an early age but didn’t have any motivation and support from others.
How did your adventure with the Programming Academy start?
I learned about the course from the Director of Care Facility in Błonie, where I am currently staying. I thought, why not? Programming in my opinion is cool! I grew up kind of in a programming environment – my friend had a Minecraft server and was programming plugins for this game on the Spigot engine.
What have you learned during the course?
As for the course itself, I have learned the basics so far. Now I can turn those basics into an encyclopedia of knowledge, start to solve various programming problems by using them.
The course works! It is giving me something. I started to think analytically. I can program even in languages other than Java Script.
Did anything surprise you while participating in the classes?
That the course works! That it is actually giving me something. I started to think analytically. I can program even in languages other than Java Script.
Do you see any cons?
There are not enough of these classes;) But everyone have to adapt to the skills of the participants and the time of the tutor.
Do you think this course will be useful to you in the future?
Of course! At least I hope so (laughs). But in the end, it just depends on me. The course itself is very helpful, but you have to want to use it well – it all depends on your attitude.
Who would you recommend this programming course to?
For all those, who really WANT to participate, because success depends mainly on your commitment and willingness.
The interview was conducted by Kamil Grabowski, programmer and instructor of the Hemmersbach Kids’ Family Programming Academy.
Good luck to Daniel and the rest of our IT course participants! We keep our fingers crossed for you!
